Tehri Dam is basically a dam of Uttarakhand which is known as 5th tallest dam of world. The dam was situated in Uttaranchal but it is now in Uttarakhand state of India. The dam is a major hydroelectric project under Tehri Development project near Tehri town, Uttarakhand, India.

Now, there is a question, is the place has importance from traveling point of view? Yes, it is one of the most important places of north India for tour and traveling. There are many things to see for tourists.

Yes, surly it can’t be a holiday destination or summer vacation place or usual traveling place but surly, it is the place which has great worth to travel. The height of Tehri Dam is 855 feet which is built on the Ganga River. The dam generates 2400 MW, irrigate about 270,000 hectares and supply of 270 million gallons of drinking water each day to Delhi, Uttar Prdesh and Uttarakhand, India.

Surly, Tehri Dam is not a traveling place of north India but it the place which has great worth for tourists. A tourist can think that it is only a dam and here is nothing to see but it is not the true fact.

For travelers, Tehri town and dam is the most beautiful place to enjoy and travel. In India tourism guide, the place is worthless but still I claim that it is one of the most beautiful towns of north India to travel.

It is situated in the foothills of Himalayas. Tehri Dam is the tallest dam of Asia. If you have plan to visit here then you can enjoy in Bhagirathi and Bhilangana valleys which is near Tehri town. You can enjoy on the dam also with biggest water supply and beautiful scene of water flowing.

A tourist can enjoy seeing the biggest dam. He can view the engineering of the dam and most beautiful places which is near about the dam. It is not Char Dham where you can visit for religion purpose. You can travel here to see water storing, water flows and range of Himalayas.

To reach here you can take bus or train for Uttarakhand from Delhi. It is well connected from air also. Reaching here by train is really great experience of traveling.

Rishikesh has own rich history in north India. It is not a new traveling place but we can say it is a historical place of north India. Rishikesh is situated in Uttarakhand state of India. It is municipal board also in Dehradun District. It is one of the nearest places of Haridwar. You should know that it is known as gateway of Himalayas also. Rishikesh tours have great worth because it is the starting point to travel Char Dham.

Rishikesh words come from Sanskrit language that means “lord of the senses” (the God Vishnu). It is located in northern India in Himalaya foothills. Here, you will be able to see a great thing – Lakshman Jhula which is made by using jute rope. It is a bridge which was built by Lakshmana to cross the river Ganga. In the present time, it is not a jute rope bridge but it is now a strong bridge. There are Lakshmana temple and Lord Rama temple on the bank of the river.

Indian government has built a Ramjhula bridge which cross the Ganga River. Its official name is Sivananda Bridge which is not a historical.

Delhi is the center of India from the traveling and tourism point of view. It has collection of different society, culture, tradition and historical archeology. Delhi is not only famous for capital of India but also it is famous for historical places.

Sanjay Lake which is situated at Patpar Ganj in Delhi is not most famous still because it is in the end of the East Delhi. It is undeveloped zone also. Patpar Ganj is an industrial estate of Delhi that is why it is not famous from tourism point of view. However, it has great historical places, lake and gardens to visit here.

Among all places of East Delhi Sanjay lake is one of the most famous places. It is famous for locals’ people to visit in morning, it is famous for young guys to play cricket and football, it is famous for children to swim in the lake but it is not famous from tourist point of view.

Another aspect of Sanjay Lake is government backup. For the lake government has nothing done so that it is not much clean and attractive. However, you can visit here to see lots of swimming duck, different types of flower, and people on boating. It means Sanjay Lake has full of natural scene.

Sanjay Lake has great space from boating point of view and its water is also much clean rather than other boating places of Delhi. It has larger area which looks like a big park but here tourists are not so many. Delhi is most famous tourist place of north India and Sanjay Lake is most famous place of East Delhi.

You can enjoy here with boating. Boating fair is 50 Rs. per boat for ½ hours. In each boat there are four seats so, only 4 people can participate in one boat.

For the family party it is the best park of Delhi. To reach here follow this Google map of Sanjay Lake. It is easy to reach here because all the buses of Delhi are well connected from this point. You need to reach Mother Dairy 1st. From the Mother Dairy, Sanjay Lake has walking distance.
