The location can be enjoyed as a hill station. Natural aspect of the location also attracts most of the tourists here. I have much enjoyed the place for its beauty and climate.

You can reach Munsiyari via Delhi following NH 24. Route of the location from Delhi is very easy. You can reach here very easily by your car also. You should surly spend your minimum 2 days here to enjoy the beauty of the nature.

Lansdowne is located in the heart of Distt Pauri Garhwal of Uttaranchal State. It is a cantonment town in the Indian state. Lansdowne was decided to raise a separate Regiment of the Garhwal on the recommendation of the Field Marshal Sir FS Roberts in 1886.

Lansdowne earlier name was Kalundanda. It is a picturesque hill resort. It is located amidst densely forested area teeming with wild life. It is known as the home of the valiant Garhwalis and a heritage military station.

Kalundanda was renamed as Lansdowne on 21st September 1890 after the viceroy of India, Lord Henry Lansdowne. Kalundanda was filled with Oak and Rhodondendron forest.

Presently, Lansdowne Cantonment is the Training Centre of Garhwal Rifles Regiment. Pine and oak trees create a healthy climate in this region.

Lansdowne is popularly known for the War Memorial at the Parade Ground of the Garhwal Rifles Center. It is the attraction point for the visitors.

Santoshi Mata Temple, Regimental Museum, Bhulla Taal, St. Mary’s Church and Lover’s lane are other attracting points around the Lansdowne.

Traveling of Lansdowne has its own importance. It gives a natural view for tourists. Lansdowne tourism is the best package of natural beauty, military training center and religious temples.

Lansdowne is covered with scenic beauty and good surroundings. The city gives the pleasant climate in summer. It is very cold in winter. You can travel Lansdowne any time of the year.

Kotdwar is the nearest railway station to Lansdowne. It has about 45 kms distance from Lansdowne. You can reach here via road also. It is 295 kms away from Delhi, 95 kms away from Haridwar and 145 kms away from Dehradun by the roads.

You can spend your holiday in Lansdowne for the scenic beauty of nature. You can plan your tour to Lansdowne as a hill station. It is my favourite place for its beautiful trees and healthy climate.
